DAV National Commander's Testimony on Capitol Hill -  2024

  On Tuesday, February 28, DAV National Commander Joseph Parsetich presented DAV’s legislative priorities for the 118th Congress before a joint session of the House and Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committees. Commander Parsetich addressed pressing issues impacting our nation’s veterans, including:

 

  • Correcting inequities in compensation benefits for veterans and survivors

  • Implementing the PACT Act and addressing gaps in toxic exposure benefits

  • Ensuring equity in VA care, services and benefits for women, LGBTQ+ and minority veterans

  • Providing a full spectrum of long-term care options for service-disabled and aging veterans

  • Bolstering mental health resources to ensure continued progress in reducing veteran suicide

  • Expanding the VA’s capacity to deliver timely, high-quality health care to veterans

The Independent Budget, click here

  For over 30 years, DAV, PVA (Paralyzed Veterans of America) and the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) have presented an independent budget and policy recommendations to Congress and the Administration.  This Independent Budget report serves as our organization's benchmark for properly funding the Department of Veterans Affairs to ensure the delivery of timely, quality health care and accurate and appropriate benefits.
